Working in the community

From the outside Archery appears to be a remote and distant sport. This is caused by the need for safe areas in which to shoot, which (of necessity) need to be away from public rights of way.

To counter this impression Droitwich Archery Society, along with many other clubs, work hard to publicise & promote the sport.

Listed below are some of the activities we undertake to which you, the public, are have a chance to get involved in the sport.

St. Richard’s Festival

3/5/2008

St. Richard is the Patron Saint of Droitwich. Every year the town holds a celebration on Vines Park and, for the last couple of years, Droitwich Archery Society has had a stall publicising the club and archery in general.

Spring Open Day

25/5/2008

The Spring Open Day is a chance for members of the public to come to our grounds and try archery under the supervision of the club coaches. There is a nominal charge (to meet our insurance obligations) for a 30 minute session. All equipment is provided. You can book on-line from the ‘Shop’ page on this website.

Northwick Manor School (invitation only)

Droitwich Archery Society regularly provide archery as an activity at the school’s Summer Fete.

Hanbury Village Fete

Droitwich Archery Society regularly run a ‘Have-a-Go’ stall at this popular annual event. You can turn up and shoot a few arrows to see how you get on.
